Amazing CPU, really shows intel how overpriced they are, if you’re looking also at the ryzen 5 2600x this CPU is literally the same just clocked a little lower but if you have a good cooler you can still clock it just as high but be wary of the volts because the other is designed for higher volts.

Bought the used – like the new one as it was a bit cheaper and figured I could send it back. It was in perfect condition and works well. Temps hit low 80 C doing cinebench r20. this is within specs with the stock cooler. Had to buy a new thermal paste, which I did when I ordered this just in case. I figured it’s used and the paste would be shot. Overall great buy.

I built a rig recently and decided to go with i5 initially. After reading many reviews, I choose not to and instead elected to go with this new Gen 2 Ryzen chip, and to be honest I have never looked back. There is a noteworthy difference between the previous version and this Gen 2 processor!
Using the stock heat sink and a very basic boost profile, I run all day at 4.2 GHz with no heat issues. The only other cooling I have is some supplemental silent 1STPLAYER case fans. I don’t game for hours on end and primarily, I have Photoshop and Illustrator open while streaming videos or Pandora. This chip breezes through everything!
Overclocking is simple, drivers and optimizing programs are easy to use and no need for expensive cooling setups since this chip is paired with a brilliant cooler.
